Maren Mommens (36) is from 1 February 2012 employed as a research scientist in Aqua Gen. She has a PhD in reproductive physiology of Atlantic halibut after studies at the University of Nordland and the University of St. Andrews (Scotland).
Maren has previously worked with mapping of markers of egg quality in halibut, by analyzing differences in gene expression and nutrient concentrations in eggs with high and low hatching success. She has also been involved in studies of sperm quality, and has studied the reproductive biology and embryonic development in fish.
In her role at Aqua Gen Maren will work with various research projects related to reproduction, egg quality and sterile salmon. She will also provide support to production and marketing departments within the same field. Maren will be located in Trondheim.
