A full-cycle land-based production facility

Land-based production gives us full control of environmental conditions. This enables our facility in Barstadvik to supply eggs to fish farmers all over the world – all year round!

Here our broodstock fish live their entire life cycle, from egg to egg, in a high-tech facility with a very high level of biosecurity.

In Barstadvik we also take advantage of the very special geological features that the nature around Sunnmørsalpene offers, with deposits of silt, sand and gravel that have built up since the last ice age.

This way, we have a natural water treatment plant and access to both marine and fresh groundwater, which is taken from deep wells.

At Profunda, approximately 80 million salmon eggs will be produced annually for export.
